Yes, there is no assembly as you take it out of the box, however, after only one week of play, we had some assembly of our own. My kids (9 and 7 yrs & NOT over weight) did pogo on them a lot, but the metal stick cut right through the stopper at the bottom. We had to replace the stopper at the bottom of BOTH sticks. Yes, the same thing happened to both sticks. Thank goodness there is a medical supply store near because we were able to replace the broken stoppers with durable crutch stoppers. However, it took a lot of finagling to get the old stopper to come off. I would not recommend this toy to anyone wanting a durable pogo stick. The handle bars are a smelly/stinky material that rubs off onto the kids hands, the non-slip tread that is on the foot part is coming off and of poor quality.My kids love pogo-ing, but these are NOT good quality pogos. 4 of 6 people found the following review helpful Great Pogo Stick, By Anonymous (Minnesota) - See all my reviews = Durability:  = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Alex Ready Set Pogo (Toy) We had purchased this pogo stick at a store about 2 months before we actually got around to taking it out of the box. We are not very handy people, so it takes us a longer than average amount time to deal with anything that requires assembly, and just hadn't had the time to open the box and get it assembled. On Thanksgiving day, we were spending some time outside. Our 6 year old daughter was starting to get bored. I went into the garage to pull out something else to do, when I noticed the box for the pogo stick that we had forgotten about. I opened it and much to my pleasant surprise, the pogo stick came assembled. Yay! My daughter wound up using the pogo stick outside with my husband for 2+ hours while I started cooking Thanksgiving dinner. She doesn't have a lot of patience and often will give up on things if she is not immediately good at them. However, she really worked hard and for a long time.
