6 Metal Ball Petanque Set

Product Description

These balls are not designed for league competition play or extremely abrasive surfaces like gravel pathways as the balls will of course scratch. This 6 ball set is for 2 players and is perfect for practice, the beginner or as a starter set for those looking to take up the sport.

NOTE: If you have played petanque with competition balls or are French and expect these to be as resilient as competition balls they are NOT. Competition balls start at approx 0 and can go up to more than 00 for a set of 3 ONLY and that does not include a case. These balls are great for someone to practice with or the occasional player that does not want the expense of a true competition set. At less than 5 for 3 balls compared to 0 they are a great deal.

  • Heavy Duty Nylon Case. Color of case may vary in blue tone from images.
  • Wood target ball, simple measuring device, heavy duty 600D nylon case, 6 chrome plated metal balls.
  • 3 balls with 3 groove pattern and 3 balls with 4 grooves pattern.
  • Steel balls are 72mm dia x 720gm. This is the average of weights and sizes for the much more expensive pro competion balls.

5.0 out of 5 stars Petanque, May 26, 2011
This review is from: 6 Metal Ball Petanque Set (Misc.)
I bought a 6 ball petanque set and used it for the 1st time a couple of days ago. Even though the new balls didn't help me score better~ they were bright and shiny and well worth the money. The carrying case is a nice blue color and certainly does the job. I'd recommend this company again as their service was great. I ordered the set on a Tuesday and it was delivered on Friday. Good Experience~ fair pricing ~ good quality.
Thanks

This set was accurately described so that I received exactly what I expected and in a timely manner. The carrying case for these substantially weighty boules is sturdy and attractive so I can take my set anywhere. The six boules are also shinily attractive, and I saw many just like them in YouTube videos of people playing Petanque. The set also includes the jack, or cochonnet, and a measuring line. This game is so much fun and we appreciate the fact that anyone of almost any age can play this simple game of skill in rolling or tossing balls. I appreciate the fact that the company cautions that these are not intended for tournament use, but are great practice boules for dirt or grass play. It is clearly stated that these should not be played on concrete or gravel, but that once some measure of skill is acquired that stimulates a desire to enter tournaments one may move up to a sturdier tournament set. If you wish to learn how to play Petanque without a large investment for tournament... Read more

The 6 Metal Ball Petanque Set was a good purchase. The balls are somewhat heavy and make for a good bociball game. They are attractive and easily handled.
