After about 10 min they could be seen but the room wasn't completely dark and they really weren't "glowing" anymore. It glows adequately, and it's white so that helps too. It doesn't have the feel of a Franklin - it's a bit harder - but it still bounces pretty well. More distressingly, mine took a somewhat oblong shape almost immediately. Not absurdly so, not enough to return it, but enough to be fairly easily noticeable.
