Gibbon's original Classic Slackline provides a perfect platform for slackliners of all ages and abilities to practice balance and have fun challenging themselves. Measuring 15 meters long (49 feet) by two inches wide, the Gibbons Classic is a robust and flexible line that provides a larger footing surface for walking, bouncing, and balancing on. Thanks to its two-part, webbing and ratchet tensioning design, the slackline sets up in minutes between two strong trees or other sturdy, stationary anchors. The set-up is simple--once you have chosen your anchors, wrap the slackline around the anchor and thread it through the reinforced loop end. Wrap the ratchet line around the opposing anchor and thread it through its reinforced loop end. Next, join the slackline to the ratchet, pull the slack through, and tighten the line using the hand crank on the ratchet to your preferred tension, which may vary depending on user skill, size, and weight. Designed for safety, the webbing slackline can be tightened to a tension level of up to four tons and the ratchet includes a safety lock to prevent slip through. The versatile slackline can be set up at your chosen height level to best suit the size and ability of the slackliners. Perfect for family entertainment, social gatherings, campsite fun, and even useful as a portable rail for skis, snowboards, and skateboards, the Gibbon Classic Slackline will provide hours fun and challenge for adventurers of all ages.

The Classic Slackline offers a great way for children of all ages to have fun and challenge themselves.

About Slacklining:
Originating in the climbing world, slacklining is the act of balancing along a narrow, flexible piece of webbing that has been anchored between two stable objects--such as trees. Slacklines are usually set up low to the ground, making it possible for people of all ability levels to practice on them. Unlike tightropes and balance beams, slacklines offer a certain amount of give in the line that allows you to bounce and do tricks as you traverse. Using a slackline for balance practice can improve core strength, help you develop focus, and refine your movements for any athletic pursuit, from climbing to gymnastics and beyond. Lightweight and simple to set up virtually anywhere with sturdy trees or other stationary anchors, slacklining is a great way to challenge yourself and pass the time--whether you are an avid climber, a yogi, or a family looking for a fun challenge that you can do together.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great slackline setup for beginners and experts..., June 7, 2009

(REAL NAME)
Gibbon makes great slacklines. My friend has the 15 meter line and I have the 25 meter. They are both bulletproof setups. I also own a traditional 1" slackline setup from slackline express. 2" lines have a slightly different feel than the 1" lines. Some people think they are easier, some people think they are harder, but I think they are probably safer for doing tricks. I would say the Gibbon lines are about the easiest to set up of any kits I've seen. The traditional slackline setup with just line and carabiners (what the first rock climbers used and many 'purists' still do) may be cheaper, but it takes a lot longer to set up. Also, with the traditional setups, you can't make them more than about 25 feet long unless you have 2-3 people to help you pull the line tight. With these Gibbon lines, you can set up an 80 foot line alone! The gibbon slacklines are the best kits I've seen. I broke my slackline express setup, but the gibbon is still going strong. If you're in San Diego, get on... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars This will be used for many years, August 17, 2009
I didn't really know what to expect with this slack line but after reading the reviews I decided to buy it ~ what a great decision. We have had a great time with this item. It never ceases to amaze me how many people want to give it a try ~ and you will never know who will be good at it (naturally) and who will be lousy on it ( like me )

Some people will hop up on it and take to it naturally, others will look like they could never walk across dry ground without falling on their faces. I shot video for about 20 minutes on vacation with various people using the slack line and it was the funniest part of our vacation.

Installation is quick & easy. Simply follow the clear directions and it will be up and going in a few minutes. Tear down is just as easy

Start with the line very low to the ground and very tight ~ it will be easier for you.

We will use this Gibbon line for years to come

5.0 out of 5 stars Soooooo much fun!, February 12, 2009

A friend took one of these to a field trip to "keep the kids distracted" ha! We set it up between two trees and later found that we could set it up over the swimming pool. It was sooo much fun. The kids did love it. But we "grown ups" had a great time with it too. It was funny that so many people approached us and ended up giving it a try. Since then I got one and have it semi-permanently set up in the common area of our building (in doors). My kids friends love to come over to give it a try & I love the fact that when the weather doesn't allow going outside, they are at least doing something active (vs watching TV!). What I didn't expect is that I would get hooked too. Its great exercise for strengthening the lower back muscles & simply to concentrate on something different as a distraction, a break. On weekends we typically bring it along when we're going someplace outdoorsy.
