The hooks fit fine around the 1 3/4 inch diameter frame of the trampoline. It seems sturdy enough after 5 days of use.The assembly of the ladder is unique in that it requires no tools and uses no screws or bolts. The ladder consists of two L shaped tubes with the hooks at the end of the long end, two quite solid plastic steps, and four unique plastic locking mechanisms used to secure the steps. once assembled the parts fit together firmly and securely.
